This is why I cannot be bothered to buy another electric bike 😑
I wanted to build myself some nice dt swiss wheels. But since I got an old cx bike, i would need to pay quite a bit in adapter plates. Maybe next year I will get a modern frame and build from there. More universal standards would be nice.
Great recommendations...thanks for this!
I don't regret buying a tong sheng tsdz2b at all - cheap, all spares available, whats not to like?
You simply shouldn't buy an ebike then you won't have these kinds of costs. An ebike is for the elderly and for people with a physical disability. Here in the Netherlands, more and more young people are riding an Ebike. And the youth are getting fatter and lazier.
Somebody has more money than sense!!! 🤣😂
Unhelpful… what would you do?
Removing material and the price goes up? This doesn't make sense.
Some EBike shop in India has a "Featured places" on your video to get clicks from you.
FFWD used to sponsor VacansSoleil. Debut TdF 2011. I have ridden the F6R for years. Love them.
Right to repair!
Why is the dirt allowed to get to the bearings in the first place? Cheap and Piss poor design from the manufacturer. No seals installed.
agree that fixing it is preferable. And shame on Bosch for being so closed with their motor/parts sales. This has been a huge problem with their product, and will bite lots of consumers in the ass when they finally fail. In my experience, Bafang has been more open with selling parts for their consumer DIY BBS motors, but I think they're less helpful about their other motors.
Guys, what options do I have out there for a rim brakes/mechanical group I wan to put on my road frame? I like SRAM and Shimano/Dura Ace usually. Thanks!
Campg Chorus
@@Mapdec any other option that is not campy? Thanks
You might be able to pick up a second hand bike that is cheaper but it won't have a new motor. I would have done exactly what your customer has done. Shame on bosch for not providing spares, DEFINITELY SUGGESTS THAT THEY ARE NOT A ECOLOGICAL COMPANY.
Do they do hooked one as well
Is it really a standard if it changes every quarter?😅
Just get a new bikre
I just bought this bike too, from Mapdec :). Very much LOOKing forward to the first ride as last time I owned and rode a LOOK was 1988. Things have moved on a bit since then, going aero was wearing your Campagnolo cotton cap with the peak facing backwards!
Thanks for order. So glad we could hunt down your size.
@@Mapdec Thanks for the super fast service :)
11speed mechanical shimano road levellers. 50/34. Grx 11speed rear mech. Shimano mtb 11/42. Devon road bike done.
Bosh ia the mad man here. Just sell the dam parts
Why don't Bosch offer a replacement pcb? Electronics is actually relatively cheap to produce, being mass produced and highly automated. However, I suspect that Bosch would be tempted to put a huge mark up on it.
Just don't make em like they use to 🙃
god, I hate dub brackets
All that work and waiting for things to happen or could have bought another one of those off marketplace and took the motor off it 🤣
that's why we posed the question, what did you find on marketplace?
my first mtb gary fisher steel frame lasted 10 years without any service no brake pads no chain absolutly nothing.. after 10 years .. maybe it was even longer.. the steel frame started to rust the brake lines where getting worn the chain was worn and the rim was bend.. So i bought a good second hand with aluminium frame.. Now that frame is never gonna rust.. And you can still buy parts for it.. So when that one was a goner i put it on marketplace and i got some crazy bids on it Just because it was fixable. I got good money for a bike that needed full service.
5:20 so what I'm getting is they used a cheap bearing in their motor or it wasn't lubricated well enough (or the customer did something truly horrendous and didn't say anything), so much for name brand motors. Also it's just a bearing, if you notice it feeling rough replace the dang thing, you don't need a license it's basic stuff and any mechanic worth their salt can do it. Its way better than screwing your customers by letting the situation get this bad.
Belt and silent rear hub is a dream of mine . I just need to find 5k for the bicycle!
No single chainring?
Instead of landfill it, ship it back to bosch. it is their stupid policy that is causing the e-waste, let them deal with it.
I've been following Hambini since I saws his video on bearings on GCN. I've got one of his threaded BB's on my 2007 Cervelo SLC-SL and a pressfit on my 2022 Wilier 0SL. Both with Ultegra groupsets and both cranks as smooth as butter. And as a Brucie bonus when I ordered I discovered he lived only a few miles away so picked them up from his front door. Legend.
“Adventure gravel”. Good category name. This has to happen for the North American market. Gravel here 60% apple sized chunks, 20% mud that redefine clearance as the true gap btw frame and tire with the max tire width that the rim ID can handle, and 20% euro “1/8th down” limestone path that turns to cement on the bike, literally, when it’s a wet day. Until Time et al take on Salsa Cutthroat, it’s out of the market.
Take it these wheels are a good all-rounder how much for a set?
This is the very reason why I spent so much time doing my homework. Mid drive was my go to due to so many post. Then everyone was complaining about them breaking and the cost to repair or replace. In the end went for a rear hub 3k watt and I'm so glad I did never had any issues. Only negative was weight but I'm used to it now and been able to cover massive distances on DIY 72v 21700 battery bank.
In our car workshop we would not do this without the owner paying up front .I know two cases where the owner said go ahead and do the repairs then decided just to leave the car at the garage and go buy a new one because it was cheaper .Then it becomes the garages problem to deal with and lose money over.
.. too much efford - i admire people that can fix their bikes / ebikes themselves .. me? i prefer to take it to a bike shop for a general maintenance. I get a warrenty for it and i have peace of mind that a professional has looked over it (like instead of my enthusiastic partner, who loves to tinker with our bikes .. but i would not call it "reliable" - especially not in the age of ebikes anymore)
So long winded.
Motors with Bosch are a rarity here in the Philippines aside from bigname brands like Giant. Aaaand they're just confirming why I'm a bit reluctant with these motors even if they're higher quality than Chinese stuff.
I mostly like the posts here but this mechanic bias as to what is best has me seeing other posts in a different way. I love the suggesting that adjusting leg speed is seen as a simple effort. Looking as this as simply an issue of a "range of gears" is a narrow way of looking at this issue (pun intended).
Don't agree that they are always aligned. The chain on the 1x will be required to go a greater distance, thus causing more wear. Additionally a 2x allows a rider to more quickly adjust for changes in road/path gradient. Bottom line, mechanics always prefer working on a 1x.
Nice video but music between is waaaay too loud. Please no music or half the volume.
Cost of ownership for the E-bike seems pretty high
Very McLaren Gulf 👍
my question is how long should i wait till i take my Bosch ebike in for a service, i use it daily but its 3 months old
When you see the little spanner icon on the screen. This is set by the dealer and open to their opinion on usage. We would usually set it at 1000 miles. Less for a heavily used eMTB. More for a commuter
Can a soft aluminum or even plastic bolt be used so it shears and saves the carbon? Just a thought .
I am really happy with the Yeti and for me count the ride quality of the bike and for me it is not a issue to maintance the bike

I run this 1x setup for gravel on my allroad bike. Swap to the 10-36 on my road wheels and the gaps are much more manageable without having to adjust RD/chain length.
this is why i'll never buy these name brand bikes that have proprietary motors, mounting, locked software, and needlessly complicated electronics, like we don't own anything anymore, people don't realize how scary this is, we can't let them do this to bikes, bikes should always be simple, highly customizable and repairable. nope, fuck this, not gonna support companies that do this to us, and they have the corrupt government on their side, we need to vote with our wallets, i'll support companies like bafang instead.
Very honourable but no way to run a business, having said that it's your business you obviously know what you're doing
